DIY Charcuterie Board
Charcuterie boards are all the rage right now and my favorite thing to do is make them at home. I’m here to show you what I think are the perfect ingredients to a gorgeous, at-home charcuterie board that’s sure to wow your friends and family, and be the star of your next social media post!
Tomato, Avocado and Arugula Salad
This tomato, avocado and arugula salad is a prime example of why simple food is sometimes the best food. Using some perfectly ripe heirloom cherry tomatoes, avocado and, my favorite, peppery arugula, this salad is accentuated with bright notes of lemon, olive oil and good flaky sea salt to perfectly highlight the season’s best.
Balsamic Grilled Veggie & Goat Cheese Sandwiches
Using some of my favorite veggies marinated in jammy balsamic vinegar and olive oil, the grilled veggies are the star of this sandwich. It also doesn’t hurt that these gorgeous grilled veggies are accentuated by buttery, perfectly toasted ciabatta buns and garlic and herb goat cheese for a tangy, creamy finish.
Strawberry Malts
If you’re into malts, chances are you’ve had a chocolate or vanilla malt which, no doubt, are delicious. But there’s something so nostalgic and perfect about a strawberry malt. Utilizing perfect seasonal strawberries, these malts are naturally sweet, creamy and uniquely buttery.
Cochinita Pibil (Yucatán-Style Braised Pork)
Using just a few ingredients - like achiote paste, garlic and fresh citrus juices - this pork comes together in your Instant Pot in about an hour. You could also use your slow cooker to set and forget it! The result is the most juicy, smoky and flavorful pork you’ve ever tasted. Serve it up in taco format with your favorite fixings to get a true taste of Mexico!
Zucchini Pasta with Parmesan, Lemon & Basil
Searching for a simple, healthy-ish, fresh recipe to shake-up your weeknights? Taking part in #MeatlessMonday? Have a butt-load of zucchini on your hands? Then this recipe is for you!!
Garlic Fries
There’s no debate: garlic fries are essential to watching a ball game! Using just a good’ ol bag of frozen crinkle cut fries doctored up with lots of fresh garlic, parsley and seasoning salt, you too can enjoy garlic fries and root on your team from the comfort of your own home!
Peach, Prosciutto & Mozzarella Pizza
Perfect for a ladies night and for sipping on rosé, this pizza is sweet and salty perfection. Featuring the ripest of summer peaches, creamy mozzarella and salty/smoky prosciutto.. A sprinkling of fresh basil and a drizzle of balsamic glaze complete the picture to make for one stunning ‘za.
Toasted Coconut and Mango Cheesecake
f you want to make this cheesecake, carve out the entire day or a few days even. It’s definitely not typical Hungry Ali to spend so much time on a single recipe. But trust me, it’s worth the time for such a sweet reward.
Trinidadian Chicken Curry
Inspired by our favorite curry in Seattle, this Trinidadian curry is spicy, warm and comforting. Forewarning: this curry packs a serious heat punch! That being said, even though there’s a whole habanero not messing around in there, the curry manages to stay flavorful and actually not destroy your taste buds. Trust me on this!
Salted Watermelon Margaritas
I am obsessed over this new cocktail hour stunner. Perfect for a hot, summer day and getting your happy hour on in festive fashion, these salted watermelon margaritas are as cool and refreshing as can be.
Umami Roasted Broccoli
My tried and true blasted broccoli is perfect as is, but when I tested out a new umami-forward combo, it truly rocked my world. Instead of dressing with olive oil, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes, I jazz up my broccoli with two umami flavor boosters: soy sauce and fish sauce.
Salmon Salad with Citrus Vinaigrette and Goat Cheese
We try to do "dinner salads” at least once a week in our house. Especially in the summer, there’s no better meal than a beautiful, hearty salad for something light, satisfying and effortless to throw together. One of my favorites is this salmon salad with a citrus vinaigrette and goat cheese.
Za’atar Chicken with Garlicky Yogurt
This recipe for flavor-packed, succulent chicken and an equally bold, creamy yogurt sauce comes together in no time, making for one elegant yet effortless meal!
Shrimp Ceviche with Cucumber and Avocado
While most ceviche utilizes raw shrimp that “cooks” in citrus juice, I actually prefer to flash poach my shrimp to ensure it’s cooked fully. Then it’s loaded with three types of citrus, cilantro, red onion, tomato jalapeño and, last but not least, cool cucumber and creamy avocado.
Date Night Vodka Pasta
I adore how this recipe not only comes together in less than 30 minutes but also explodes with flavor with just a few key ingredients. The vodka in this creamy, tomato-centric pasta just works as it cuts the bitterness of the tomato paste and adds a balanced, sweetness.
Lemony Grilled Zucchini
This recipe is living proof that sometimes seasonal and simple is the only way to go. The key to ensuring perfectly cooked yet not slimy or soggy zucchini in the slightest is actually tossing the zucchini straight on your heat source sans seasonings or oil.
Buttermilk Barbecue Chicken
This is by far the juiciest chicken you’ll ever eat, thanks to a buttermilk bath! This easy recipe comes together low and slow that’s perfect for summer backyard grilling.
Spicy Honey and Lime Corn Salad
I’m a huge fan of this corn salad because it’s so refreshingly different. Grilled corn, a spicy/sweet/zesty vinaigrette, cool and creamy avocado, cilantro and jalapeño make this salad a perfect side dish to enjoy this summer.
Grilled Peruvian Chicken with Green Sauce
I promise this is a recipe you’ll keep coming back to all summer long! Succulent and spicy chicken followed by an even spicier, cool, creamy and zesty green sauce worthy of licking your plate for.
