California Delight Sandwiches

Around this time of year, my husband Cole and I would be gearing up for holiday travel down to Southern California to visit family. Other than a visit to In-N-Out, there is always a trip to Board and Brew planned.

What is Board and Brew, you ask? Only the best sandwich shop to ever exist, if you ask me! We’re talking perfectly crafted, fresh, California-style sandwiches that hit the spot every time. If you ever get the chance to visit SoCal and stumble upon a Board and Brew, you must pay a visit!

My favorite B&B creation is hands down the California Delight which is a perfect combination of thinly sliced turkey breast, a healthy slathering of cream cheese (the best), sunflower seeds (also the best), mayo, tomato, lettuce and sprouts on squaw bread. It is the world’s best sandwich and I am now drooling just thinking about it.

For obvious reasons, we are not flying down to California this year so there will be no Board & Brew visits in our future. So of course that means we had to bring Board & Brew to us with our very own California Delight creation.

My version is only slightly altered with the use of thinly sliced cucumber in place of tomato for that added crunch. Add tomato if you can get your hands on a delicious one when they’re in season! Instead of their amazing squaw bread, I of course used Dave’s Killer Bread (DKB) for its natural chewiness and nutty flavor.

Each bite is a new surprise of creamy, savory, crunchy and fresh, making for the best sandwich you will ever eat!
