Everybody needs a good standby veggie recipe. One that's not only quick and rather mindless but a tasty and timeless meal enhancement.

Some of my favorite veggie recipes include blasted broccoli and garlic green beans. No joke, they make it onto the dinner table 5 out of 7 nights a week. Of course, for variety’s sake it’s good to have at least a few other staples up your sleeve, like these 4-ingredient spicy sesame green beans.

With just four (yes, FOUR) ingredients and just a mere matter of minutes, perfect, spicy, Chinese-style green beans can be on your dinner table tonight. And there's really nothing that these savory and spicy green beans don't go with! Try them with chicken, pork, steak or even on their own with rice for my vegetarian and vegan friends. Personally? I would serve them up in a heartbeat with my salmon with coconut milk sauce. There is possibly no better meal combination if you ask me!

4-Ingredient Spicy Sesame Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh green beans, stems trimmed

  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon Sambal chili sauce

Directions

Heat sesame oil in a wok or a skillet over medium high heat. Add green beans and cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. If browning happens, even better! Add soy sauce and chili sauce and cook for another 2 minutes until sauce starts to reduce and beans are al dente. Remove from heat and serve warm. Is excellent with this salmon dish. Enjoy!
